The wedding crashed Alex

We were in Dublin for the weekend, I booked golf for 7-20am thinking we would just have a meal and a few quiet drinks the night before. Well after the few quiet drinks, a wedding party entered the lounge, we had a great old sing song with fiddles and bodhrans and Alex had a ball. We went to bed about 3am.

The next morning we were a bit rough on the 1st tee, I think Alex's first shot went about 10 yards, then he played 'army golf' up the first fairway 'left right, left right, left right'. Eventually he got near the green and the ball ended up in the hole. I had played the hole pretty well and got a six, Geoff got a 7 and my Dad an eight. I turned to Alex (in trepidation as he was known for let's say losing count) Jamie he said, 'it was either a 4 or a 5', 'come on Alex' I replied, 'it was more like a 4 + 5' . . 'Jeso big fella I wouldn't tell ya the wrong score' so I put him down for a 5.

The moral of that story is time spent with Alex was time we'll spent, he was great company and we all enjoyed spending time with him.

He will be sorely missed but never ever forgotten....
